PRACTICES LABORATORY
OBJECTIVE:
- To provide an exposure of basic engineering practices to the student
- To provide exposure to the students with hands on experience on various basic engineering practices in Civil and Mechanical Engineering
LIST OF EXERCISES:

Introduction to Safety measures and
First aid.
2.
Study of Lathe - Welding methods and
equipments- Casting process and tools- Sheet metal and fitting tools- Carpentry tools
and joints- Plumbing components.
3.
Lathe: Facing, turning, taper turning
and knurling.
4.
Welding: BUTT, LAP and T- joints
5.
Foundry: Green sand preparation- mould making practice
6.
Sheet metal: Cone, tray, cylinder.
7.
Carpentry: CROSS, T and DOVETAIL
joints.
8.
Drilling: simple exercises.
9.
Plumbing: Pipe line
joints. Preparation of plumbing line sketches for water supply and sewage
works.
